KOSHER ESTABLISHMENTS

KOSHER ALERTS

Clover Mama Bake 70% Brick is now DAIRY due to the addition of whey powder, the dairy logo is correctly used on the packaging.

Caring Candies Chocolates previously marked Parev should be regarded as DAIRY due to a change in the suppliers’ raw material. Chocolate products that currently bearing the Parev logo should therefore be regarded as DAIRY. New packaging will be labelled correctly.

Nestle chocolates bearing the BD logo and made in South Africa are still kosher certified DAIRY. **However, various Nestle Chocolates are also being imported into South Africa from around the world. Unfortunately, Nestle chocolates from the UK are confirmed to come from a factory that is not kosher certified. For the Nestle chocolates made in Bulgaria, we currently have no information. Please be sure to check packaging on all Nestle products.

Cape Town Beth Din has notified us that Theonista Kombucha Tea range is no longer kosher certified.

KF Federation of Synagogues, UK has informed us that Higher Living Tea has not renewed their kosher licence, and therefore will be no longer kosher certified, current stock is still okay.

A reminder that ALL frozen vegetables require a Hechsher as it is very common that they are processed through blanching or parboiling before freezing in order to maintain their colour, freshness and form.

NEW KOSHER PRODUCTS

Nature’s Choice Fine Himalayan Salt is kosher PAREV, with or without a BD logo.

Sally Williams Liquorice Turkish Delight is kosher PAREV, with a BD logo.

The following Denny’s Mushroom Plant-Based Vegan products are kosher PAREV, with or without a BD logo:

  • Denny Plant-Based Mince
  • Denny Plant-Based Patties
  • Denny Plant-Based Sausages

The following Montagu Sour Wiggles are kosher PAREV, with a BD logo:

  • Apple Sour Wiggles
  • Cherry Sour Wiggles
  • Lemon Sour Wiggles

The following Woolworths Protein Bars are kosher certified, with a BD logo:

  • Coffee Smoothie Bars are PAREV
  • Mango & Coconut Protein Bars are PAREV
  • Peanut Butter & Cocoa Protein Bars are PAREV
  • Vegan Protein Balls – Cashew & Raspberry are PAREV
  • Strawberry Flavoured Whey Protein Bar are DAIRY
  • Coffee Flavoured Whey Protein Bar are DAIRY

The following Woolworths Cereal Bars are kosher certified, with a BD logo:

  • Chocolate Flavoured Puffed Rice Cereal Bars 29g are PAREV
  • Strawberry Flavoured Puffed Rice Cereal Bars 29g are DAIRY
  • Vanilla Puffed Rice Cereal Bars 29g are DAIRY

Kellogg’s Coco Pops Fills are kosher certified, DAIRY with a BD logo.
