I have been making these blueberry muffins since I got married nearly 21 years ago and they never let me down. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do.


2 cups of self-raising flour
¾ cup of firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries
1 egg lightly beaten
¾ cup of buttermilk
½ a cup of vegetable oil

    Start Cooking

  1. Sift dry ingredients together and stir in remaining ingredients (I gently stir in the blueberries last).
  2. Spoon generous spoonfuls of the mixture in a greased muffin tin.
  3. Place in an oven preheated to 200 °c oven and bake for 20 minutes
