Super Simple Sunday lunch bread

This whole wheat bread is perfect for Sunday lunches, a delicious Sunday dinner, or  any time! It takes minutes to make and is so satisfyingly delicious! Don’t be put off by using yeast – this is really easy.

Ingredients

325 ml of lukewarm water
1 packet (10mg) of quick rise dried yeast
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of olive oil
250g of bread flour
250g of nutty wheat or whole wheat flour

    Start Cooking

  1. In a small bowl mix together the yeast, water, sugar and olive oil.
  2. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes to begin to bubble.
  3. In a large mixing bowl add the 2 flours and salt and mix to combine.
  4. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture and knead by hand until the dough is a good elastic consistency.
  5. Add a little extra flour if too sticky, but not too much!
  6. Lightly oil a large bowl, place your dough inside and let it rise for about one hour.
  7. Once the dough has risen, place it into a greased loaf tin and cut 3 diagonal lines into the top.
  8. Bake at 220°c for around 30 minutes.
